Many local businesses are trying to figure out their short and long-term futures amid COVID-19.

Some are closed temporarily in hopes of weathering the proverbial storm while others are operating with a reduced workforce or hours of operation.

Others are fortunate enough to have services and products needed day-to-day and have adjusted to the current situation.

No matter what the circumstances, the goal of remaining viable now or in the future can be managed by using technology-driven marketing and public relations tools.

Now with the CARES Act in effect, the time is now for all businesses to contact their local banks or credit unions to apply for the loans, which will be forgiven if certain conditions are met.  While some details are being sorted out, the time to begin the application process is now. We have attached an overview of the loan information as prepared by the US Chamber of Commerce.

In advance of Congressional redistricting following the 2020 Census, the Lafayette and Lake Charles metro areas and surrounding parishes are uniting to promote the two regions’ shared values, culture, population, and vision as the Acadiana / Southwest La. Super-Region.

The 116th Annual Chamber SWLA Banquet was held Thursday (January 30) inside the Golden Nugget Casino Resort in Lake Charles. On the menu were Grit, Leadership and Breaking Barriers.

West Calcasieu Port Director Lynn Hohensee announced that the port is now home to a certified site under Louisiana Economic Development’s Site Certification Program.
